The Dr. Stone Science Zine will be a physical, for-profit A5 zine. We aim to create a textbook-like zine plus merch with both artists and researchers, detailing the scientific subjects Dr. Stone is all about!
Meet the Mods!

Hiya~ I’m Yuzu, I have been reading Dr. Stone from the beginning and am in love with the concept and the characters!! I used to study Molecular biomedicine so I think this zine is super interesting and I love the idea of making science fun for people who aren't too into it the way Dr. Stone has done so far! Please follow our pathway to create this zine!
Mod Plum
Graphic Design
Hello! I’m Plum or Whippy! This is my first time modding a zine and I’m so excited to be working on this project! Previously, I’ve worked on student publications, as well as been on several student leadership committees. I’ve got an art brain, but I love science of all kinds— especially physics & space!
Schedule
TBD
Research Applications
Instead of writers, this zine will include researchers for scientific topics! Researchers will be working alongside page artists to create up to 4 page illustrations, diagrams, and explanations for their chosen topics in a fluid and lively manner.
Researchers: Researchers will be asked to submit a short explanation of a simple scientific topic that appears in Dr. Stone in no more than 500 words. Images, pictures, and diagrams may be included as needed, and works referenced may be cited in any style you choose. Applicants will be judged on clarity, accuracy, readability, as well as spelling and grammar.
In other words, your writing should be informative but enjoyable to read. Feel free to throw in a bit of personality if you want, your own or a character's.
Twelve researchers will be accepted!

Concept
This zine is intended to be put together as if it were a mini science textbook, but Dr. Stone themed! Our artist/researcher pairs will work together to describe various topics from the anime and manga in fun and informative ways! This will be done in a way similar to how the manga itself explains them:
Each topic will be approximately four pages, depending on topic and creators choices. These can be combinations of art and research, as well as diagrams and characters giving explanations!
Example page layouts can look like the manga above or like the photos below, but the formatting is open for interpretation! (credit to Mod Bel for photos):
